Petronella White, the ex-wife of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, said the latter "had no interest in voters".

The journalist, who had a four-year relationship with Johnson while they were at The Spectator, said he had told her several times that he "views Conservative voters with disdain".

White tweeted, "Boris doesn't care about voters, he looks down on Tory voters and has told me so on multiple occasions."

Her comments come at a time when Johnson is defying calls to resign despite a new wave of ministerial resignations, after Chancellor Rishi Sunak and Health Minister Sajid Javid left last night.

Dozens have resigned from their positions;

Ministers, parliamentary officials or trade envoys since Tuesday morning.

Earlier, on Good Morning Britain, White predicted that the prime ministership would turn badly for her ex-husband, saying he was in "a mess of his own making".

“He is a person who seeks to please others too much, which leads to all kinds of problems in the government, because he makes promises that he cannot keep, and he makes enemies,” she said during the program, last month, adding, “While a person can do that in his personal life, he catches hurt him in politics.”

White continues, “In politics, you have to be more mature about it, and you have to clench your teeth as Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Tony Blair, even Theresa May did.

His qualities are very endearing, but they are not necessarily those of a great prime minister.”

Responding to calls to resign, Johnson said the "enormous mandate" given to him by voters in 2019 meant he had to continue despite the "difficult circumstances" he faced.

His appearance came at a time when a group of government ministers resigned.
