Significant resources have been deployed since Thursday afternoon against a violent fire in the Arles region (Bouches-du-Rhône).

The fire started from reeds and brush around noon, before spreading quickly and jumping the national 113, a strategic axis which ensures the junction of the A54 between Nîmes and Marseille, we learned from the firefighters of the Bouches-du-Rhone.

In the area, four Canadair and 120 firefighters are in a kind of "urban guerrilla warfare" to "do everything" to prevent the fire, which has covered around thirty hectares, from reaching nearby homes or businesses, detailed the firefighters.

The N113 was cut in both directions.
