The presidential office said, "The relationship of relatives has nothing to do with the appointment of the president's office," in relation to the controversy over the work of senior administrative officer Choi, who is a relative of President Yoon Seok-yeol.

The President's Office announced yesterday (6th) that through a notice to reporters, Choi was referred to as a senior administrative officer, and said, "It is true that President Yoon's maternal cousin is his sixth cousin."

He also claimed that "he was appointed in terms of business continuity by performing various tasks since the formation of the presidential primary camp"

He further stated that his maternal family is not subject to employment restrictions under the Conflict of Interest Act.
