The State Duma approved the law on equating to treason the transition to the side of the enemy

According to the document, treason will be considered a transition to the side of the enemy in the context of an armed conflict, hostilities or other actions with the use of weapons and military equipment with the participation of Russia.

For participation in an armed conflict or hostilities abroad against the interests of Russia, one can face up to 20 years in prison with a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles.

Earlier it was reported that a bill was submitted to the State Duma on equating to treason going over to the side of the enemy.

Political scientist Ruslan Balbek, in an interview with RT, supported the bill adopted by the State Duma, which recognizes the transition to the enemy during an armed conflict as high treason.
