For participation in an armed conflict or hostilities abroad against the interests of Russia, one can face up to 20 years in prison with a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles.

Earlier it was reported that a bill was submitted to the State Duma on equating to treason going over to the side of the enemy.

Political scientist Ruslan Balbek, in an interview with RT, supported the bill adopted by the State Duma, which recognizes the transition to the enemy during an armed conflict as high treason.
