“The embassy is checking information about the possible presence of Irina McCarthy, who died during the mass execution of parade participants in the city of Highland Park, Illinois, of Russian citizenship,” the department said.
The embassy also noted that no data on the injured Russian citizens were received by the police from the department.
Earlier it was reported that in the state of Illinois there was a mass shooting during the parade in honor of the US Independence Day.
According to the latest data, seven people were killed and 24 others were injured as a result of the incident.
Soon law enforcement officials detained the suspect in the shooting.
