“This was the result of normal embassy-level contacts between Norwegian and Russian diplomats,” she said.

According to her, the Norwegian side is glad that the issue was resolved in a favorable way. 

Lunde also said that the decision is not related to Moscow's raising the issue of denunciation or suspension of the treaty with Norway on the delimitation of maritime spaces and cooperation in the Barents Sea.

She added that Norwegian transport took the containers from the border on July 2.

On July 5, the containers were loaded onto a ship that went to Svalbard.

Earlier it was reported that Norway agreed to let cargo through its territory for Russian settlements on Svalbard.

On June 28, Norway rejected Russia's application for the passage of goods for Russian settlements on Svalbard through the only checkpoint on the Russian-Norwegian border - Storskog.

State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin instructed the House Committee on International Affairs to study the issue of denunciation or suspension of the agreement between Russia and Norway on the delimitation of maritime spaces and cooperation in the Barents Sea.
