The train that derailed shortly after take-off from SCA's timber terminal in Östavall was 632 meters long with 22 carriages loaded with saw timber.
- It is very sad and unfortunate and the first thing you ask yourself is if there are any injuries, but fortunately there were no injuries this time, Anders Edholm states.
Three investigations become one
What caused the accident to occur is unclear and will be investigated by the three parties involved: the Swedish Transport Administration, SCA and the train operator Hector Rail.
- The investigation is done in three parts, then we combine our sub-investigations into one and then we try to arrive at exactly what happened.
