[Explanation] On July 5, as a sub-forum of the "Global Development: Common Mission and Action Value" think tank media high-end forum, the "Global Development Initiative: Bringing together the greatest synergy to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" forum was held in Beijing.
[Explanation] Long Guoqiang, deputy director of the Development Research Center of the State Council, said at the opening ceremony of the forum that, as the biggest consensus on current global development, the implementation of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is facing severe challenges.

The Human Development Index has declined for the first time in 30 years. More than 100 million people are living in poverty in the world. Nearly 800 million people are still living in hunger. Food and energy security, education, employment, health care and other areas of people's livelihood are facing more difficulties. Progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals in the poorest countries and regions is likely to be delayed by a full decade.
[Commentary] Long Guoqiang introduced that the global development initiative takes poverty reduction, food security, anti-epidemic and vaccines, digital economy and other eight most urgent issues faced by developing countries as the starting point, and helps countries work together to eliminate the key pain points facing sustainable development and obstacles provide realistic options.
Looking forward to the future, we must build consensus on development and deepen development cooperation; we must strengthen the efficiency of existing cooperation mechanisms to form joint development forces; we must seize the main contradiction and work together to promote the development of key areas.
