Elisabeth Borne's speech on Wednesday before the National Assembly did not convince the opposition, who expressed their "distrust" and castigated a hollow speech.

LFI denounces the "save who can" of the Prime Minister, no "compromise" for LR, while the RN describes the government's situation as "out of control".

It was an expected moment.

After Elisabeth Borne's general policy statement, Wednesday before the National Assembly, the presidents of each parliamentary group spoke from the perch.

The leader of LREM deputies, Aurore Bergé, notably called for "fewer laws, better written, better negotiated, better evaluated" in particular thanks to "a culture of compromise", in response to the Prime Minister's appeal to the opposition to "build together" "compromises" to respond to economic or climatic challenges.

The head of government did not convince the oppositions who expressed their "mistrust" and castigated a hollow speech.

Panot (LFI) denounces Borne's "save who can"

The president of the LFI group in the National Assembly, Mathilde Panot, criticized Élisabeth Borne for her "strategy" of "save who can" in the absence of a vote of confidence, and of the "compromises" of the majority with the RN.

"A vote of confidence was necessary. But you chose to flee (...) Your strategy now is 'save whoever can'. And you are ready for anything. Never to compromise, but to all compromises" , launched the leader of the 75 Insoumis deputies.

"Wednesday, July 6 will remain as this day when again you trampled on the vote of the French", affirmed Mathilde Panot.

In the absence of a vote of confidence, the four groups of the left-wing Nupes coalition (LFI, PS, environmentalist, communist) tabled a motion of censure on Wednesday out of "distrust" in the government.

This text cannot be examined before Friday.

Mathilde Panot also criticized the majority for a "moral and political package" with the National Rally.

"Deputies from your ranks have elected two members of a party founded by the SS as vice-presidents of the Assembly. You made no secret of it: rather the brown plague than tax control", she said spear.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon for his part rejected the Prime Minister's warnings on BFMTV: "The disorder is her, the instability is her. It is this government which is incapable of doing what any government of right or left manages to make in all Europe, to make a coalition."

"We are trying, in particularly difficult circumstances, to keep parliamentary democracy alive"

"For months, we will see LREM discussing with LR to grab votes. Instability is what organizes it", he insisted, underlining: "We are all taken hostage by the fact that LR and LREM cannot agree" to form a coalition.

"No, we are not going to block, we are going to respect the mandate for which we were elected, to oppose," added the former leader of the group of LFI deputies.

Neither "compromise" with the government, nor "sterile blockage", says Marleix (LR)

The leader of the LR deputies Olivier Marleix assured his side that his group would not engage in any "compromise" with the executive, but would not cause either "sterile blockage" in the National Assembly.

Olivier Marleix said he did not want the "little soup" politician, while remaining open to support on certain texts.

"Our responsibility is clear: neither compromise nor small arrangements with a President of the Republic whose shaky orientations we have been contesting since 2017", he said at the podium.

Olivier Marleix: "We will be a responsible but demanding opposition"

"But never a sterile blockage. We have no intention of paralyzing everything when our country has already fallen so far behind," he added in the process.

"Yes, we are ready to vote for all the texts which will go in the direction of the national surge, that of purchasing power through work, the reconstruction of our industrial apparatus, the punishment of offenders, or access to everyone to health”, continued the president of the LR group, the third in number in the opposition with around sixty deputies.

To Elisabeth Borne's proposal to nationalize EDF, Olivier Marleix replied "why not, if not to dismember it".

The right-wing official, however, called on Elisabeth Borne to "a frank break with the policy of the dead dog over the water" to initiate far-reaching reforms, "get out of the illusion of magic money" and have "the courage reduce inefficient public spending".

Directly targeting President Emmanuel Macron, he called for an end to "solitary arrogance and contempt for intermediary bodies".

Combining Gaullist accents and formulas dear to the very right-hander Éric Ciotti, he wished that "our nation regains its rank" and that "France remains France".

Le Pen (RN): the situation of the government "out of control", the maintenance of Borne a "provocation"

The president of the deputies RN Marine Le Pen considered that the situation of the government was "out of control" and the maintenance of Elisabeth Borne as Prime Minister a "political provocation", immediately after her declaration of general policy.

"The president acts as if nothing had happened" after the legislative elections, yet "it's the return of politics that jumps out at him, it's a great political moment", launched the finalist of the presidential election from the rostrum of the National Assembly.

"On the principles which are ours, you will always find us firm: according to the attitude of the government, resolved either to oppose us if the measures go in the wrong direction, or to find ways of passage as soon as they are taken into account”, repeated Marine Le Pen while the macronist camp only has a relative majority.

"This means taking into consideration our priorities, our motions and our amendments" and "it is therefore up to the government to decide on the blocking or the institutional functioning", affirmed the MP for Pas-de-Calais, under protests of the majority.

"If he chooses intransigence, stiffening or disrespect towards our voters, he will assume the responsibility before the country", she warned, stressing that "for our part, we are ready for any eventuality" .

"The government situation is not under control but, as in so many other areas, out of control," said the leader of the group of 89 deputies.

"It is not insulting you, Ms. Borne, to say that, given the electoral circumstances, your appointment is not a decision of great politics, but a scenario that has become obsolete", added Marine Le Pen before the Prime Minister, considering that her confirmation is "almost an institutional incongruity" and "a political provocation".

The far-right leader also attacked Emmanuel Macron: "In his shirt, sleeves rolled up, disheveled by action, he puts himself on the stage as the savior of the world, as if the exercise of power had to be reduced to a Netflix trailer, to the irresponsible disclosure of diplomatic discussions, to some immature and derisory antics of an irremediably narcissistic power.

And to accuse him: "The president did not understand the new injunction made to him to take a step back, to give way to the will of the people and to have the only duty to implement it. ."
