Kommersant: three generals of the Ministry of Internal Affairs became defendants in a criminal case

The assistant to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General Sergei Umnov, the head of the traffic police of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Major General Alexei Semyonov, and retired Major General Ivan Abakumov, were searched in their apartments and workplaces.

It is noted that the Investigative Committee and departments "M" of the FSB of Russia conducted searches in order to find documents and items prohibited for circulation.

Earlier, Interfax informed that law enforcement officers were conducting searches at the head of the traffic police department for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region Alexei Semyonov.

The reasons for the investigation were not disclosed.
