Southeastern Australia is still plagued by record rains and flooding.
If the bad weather seems to be gradually leaving Sydney to head towards the north of the state of New South Wales, the most populous city in the country remains on alert.
The level of the rivers remains high, and the now 85,000 people called to evacuate since this weekend must sometimes still stay away from their homes.

The inhabitants are beginning to find the time long.
This Wednesday, July 6, in the small town of Windsor, northwest of Sydney, the main attraction was not so much the visit of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, but the observation of the level of the river, which completely makes a bridge disappear from the landscape.
If it has rained less since Tuesday in Sydney than during the previous days, the level of the rivers remains high.
Too much for Lynette, a resident, who has still not been able to go to her home to see any damage.
"
We are not sure we can access our house.
We are told that we can go back there, but all the roads are blocked around
it, ”she testifies.
Rain through Friday
And the rain is still falling.
Last night new evacuation orders were issued, this time a little further north in the state of New South Wales.
And it doesn't suit Helen and her husband, vacationers stranded when they had planned to travel north.
“
We came to this trailer park to spend four nights.
We arrived on Saturday, but we are still there because of the floods
,” she laments.
Many residents on the outskirts of Sydney were able to find refuge in evacuation centres.
But with the rains expected until Friday, it is difficult to know when they will be able to return to their homes.
Faced with floods, Australia remains on alert.
