"The outlook has darkened considerably since the April update," Georgieva told Reuters, referring to the global spread of inflation, higher real interest rates, slowing economic growth in China and tightening anti-Russian sanctions in connection with the Ukraine invasion. said.



When asked if a global recession could be ruled out, he replied, "The risks are growing and we cannot rule them out."



"The risk is even higher in 2023," he said, as recent economic data showed some large economies, including China and Russia, contracted in the second quarter.



"It's going to be a tough year, but 2023 will be even harder," he said. "In 2023, the risk of a recession increases."



She also noted that while prolonged fiscal tightening will complicate the global economic outlook, it is important to control soaring prices, she said.
