According to Johan Kristoffersson, it was a colleague of his who first noticed that there was some type of activity in the nature reserve Ormberget-Hertsöfältet.

Once he arrived at the scene, he had a hard time believing his eyes.

- The first pit is 1.5 meters deep and 2.3 meters wide and 3 meters long.

Quickly calculated, it is just over 8 cubic meters of sand that must have been shoveled away so it is a heavenly energy they have had, unfortunately it is a bit misdirected, he says.

Used ax and saw

As timber for the frame, the builders felled trees with an ax and then barked the trunks.

- We can see here on the chips that they did not use any motor-driven tool, says Kristoffersson and points to one of the trunks that were cut.

The forest manager guesses that the work with the two buildings must have taken several hours to complete.

- I've never seen anything like it.

Of course, it happens that boys and girls build huts in the forest, but it is seldom or never of this dignity.

Built in May or June

According to the information that reached him, the work seems to have started sometime during the month of May and may have been going on for a while into the month of June.

In recent days, there seems to have been no activity.

- At least what I can tell from the tracks on the site, he says.

Suspected of vandalism and or environmental law violations

The person or persons who have built the structures are now suspected of damage and possible environmental crime because the construction took place in a nature reserve.

- No private person is allowed to fell or build buildings here and those who do so can expect large fines, says Johan Kristoffersson.
