British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is facing his latest political crisis, as the resignations of a number of ministers and secretaries of the ruling party in Parliament followed, amid condemnations of what he described as deception and "scandal culture" in his administration.

Today, Wednesday, the British Minister of State for Children and Family, Will Quince, resigned, and Laura Trott, Assistant Secretary of State for Transport, resigned.

Quince said he had no other choice after he passed on "in good faith" information to the media he obtained from the Prime Minister's Office, which "turned out to be incorrect."

For her part, the Assistant Minister of State for Transportation said that she resigned because she had lost confidence in the government.

On Tuesday evening, Finance Minister Rishi Sunak and Health Minister Sajid Javid resigned, and both said they could no longer tolerate the "culture of scandals" that had haunted Johnson for months.

In his resignation letter, Sunak accused the prime minister of wanting to deceive the British people about the true state of the economy, and stressed that he would not be complicit in that deception.

As for Javid, he said he could no longer continue his government role "in good conscience".

The British Prime Minister - who expressed his regret over the resignation of the two ministers - hastened to issue a decision appointing Steve Barclay as Minister of Health and Nazim Zahawi as Minister of Finance.

After a series of scandals, are the days of Boris Johnson as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom numbered?

Parliamentary interrogation

Today, Wednesday, Johnson faces the weekly impeachment session, which is expected to be more heated than usual in light of these developments.

Following this session, the Prime Minister faces a questioning for hours from the chairmen of the most important committees in the British House of Commons.

The resignation of the finance and health ministers came minutes after Johnson apologized for appointing Chris Pincher to a leadership position in the ruling party.

Pincher resigned a few days ago after being accused of sexually molesting two men while intoxicated.

This is the latest scandal, after the scandal of the parties that were held at the Prime Minister's headquarters during the general closure procedures due to the Corona pandemic.

Al-Jazeera correspondent in London, Mina Harbloo, reported that at least 10 parliamentary aides and secretaries had submitted their resignations since Tuesday.

She said that Johnson's future is once again shrouded in doubt, with the state of tension increasing day after day, especially after the losses incurred by the party in the recent local elections.

She added that a number of ruling Conservative Party deputies are increasing pressure on Johnson to push him to step down, and are coordinating their efforts to change the party's regulations in order to hold a new internal vote of no-confidence in him, after he survived a vote held on the sixth of last June.
