About 70,000 people visited Lollapalooza at Djurgården.

According to the police's preliminary figures, this resulted in about 120 cases where people were suspected of having used drugs and about ten cases where intoxicated people were taken care of to sober up.

The temporarily built-up police station has meant that it has been possible to prosecute people quickly.

- We have worked with what we call faster prosecution.

We complete cases much earlier instead of getting stuck in the legal chain.

You get a criminal injunction or time for a main hearing directly in your hand when we report you, says Per Edquist.

The police presence at Lollapalooza will be strengthened with a police station on site, the head of unit will hear why.

Does not fit everywhere

Building a station or jail in an event area is suitable in some places but not all, according to Per Edquist.

- It takes time to establish itself, it requires a certain area and we pull out IT systems and make installations on site.

It is perhaps best suited for events where you are on site for several days and you do not have an immediate proximity to a police station.

It also depends on the amount of detainees you handle, says Per Edquist.

Can be used on Way out west

This way of working can also be used in other parts of the country, says Per Edquist.

- You could do that, for example, during Way out west in Gothenburg.

It is a difference to be in Slottsskogen compared to an event at Ullevi, where you have a police station right next door, says Per Edquist.
