He noted that the Turkish side will find out the origin of the cargo, who is its charterer, who sent this cargo.

According to him, after that, "everything will be clear there, what sanctions restrictions were."

“They will give an assessment right away, and then it will be clear whether there are legal consequences (and grounds) for terminating the contract and returning the vessel,” RIA Novosti quotes him. 

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commented on reports of the detention in Turkey of a ship rented by the Russian side, allegedly carrying Ukrainian grain.

According to him, the ship leased from Kazakhstan sailed under the flag of Russia.

Lavrov added that "the cargo was under a contract between Estonia and Turkey."

He noted that the situation needs to be dealt with.
