He recalled that July 10 is the date for the next disclosure of sanctions packages.

According to Alikhanov, the EU is guided by it in its internal work in order to make an exception for the region before the formal disclosure of the nomenclature.

“If the announced deadlines that were mentioned before July 10 are not met, we will propose to the political leadership to take retaliatory measures,” the governor said to RIA Novosti.

According to Bloomberg sources, the new package of EU sanctions will include adjustments to the rules for the transit of goods subject to sanctions to the Kaliningrad region.

Earlier it was reported that the authorities of the Kaliningrad region prepared a list of response measures to Lithuania's ban on overland transit of certain goods to the region.

The list was submitted for consideration to the Russian government.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov later announced the development of measures in case of continued restrictions on transit to Kaliningrad.
