According to Hong Kong's "Ta Kung Pao" report, on the 4th, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (hereinafter referred to as "Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou)") and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Digital Economy Research Institute (Futian) (below) "IDEA Research Institute") signed a cooperation agreement on joint training of doctoral students at the start-up campus of Nansha Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) in Guangzhou.

The two parties will be committed to jointly cultivating top-level doctoral students in the world, focusing on the cutting-edge technologies of artificial intelligence and digital economy, and promoting the development of high-level talents and technological progress in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

According to the plan, the first joint training doctoral students are scheduled to enter the class in the fall of 2023.

  The signing ceremony of the day was held at the launch campus of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) in Nansha, Guangzhou. Professor Ni Mingxuan, President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), and Academician Shen Xiangyang, the founding chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Digital Economy Research Institute (Futian), attended the ceremony. And sign the cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties.

The joint doctoral training program "IDEA Class" signed by the two parties was jointly initiated and founded by President Ni Mingxuan and Academician Shen Xiangyang. It is an important project for the deepening of the strategic cooperation between HKUST (Guangzhou) and IDEA Research Institute.

  According to the agreement, the research direction of the "IDEA class" will focus on the cutting-edge technologies of artificial intelligence and digital economy, and strive to form features and advantages in the fields of AI financial technology, robotics and AI automation, and computer vision.

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) will rely on its strong faculty and research facilities, and IDEA Research Institute will give full play to its unique research and education model to enable students to master cutting-edge technology research and development capabilities.
