A safer sweeping method is now being introduced in Eskilstuna - but will be more expensive for homeowners

The rationale for the change is a long-term work environment work where chimney sweeps have been overrepresented when it comes to cancer and fall accidents.

The new way of working means lower exposure to soot particles and fewer assignments at high altitudes.

Sometimes from the roofs

For practical reasons, some assignments will need to be done on the roofs, but the starting point will in the future be that the sweeping is done at the stove door.

The change affects the property owners with a stove or other fireplace in Eskilstuna municipality.

Raising and lowering

Due to the fact that this working method takes longer to perform, the rate is raised and now lands at SEK 591 for sweeping an ordinary residential building.

At the same time, the cost is reduced somewhat for the fire protection inspections that are carried out at the same time.
