China News Service, July 4 (Reuters) - On the afternoon of the 3rd local time, a shooting occurred in a large shopping mall in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, killing three people and injuring many others.

According to local police, a 22-year-old man has been arrested, and the suspect was armed with a rifle and ammunition at the time of his arrest.

Three of the injured are in critical condition, police said.

The head of the Copenhagen Police Department said that the motive of the shooter was not yet clear, but it was not ruled out that it was a terrorist act.

Danish Prime Minister Fraser Ricksen called the incident a "brutal attack" in a statement issued on the evening of the 3rd.

According to Reuters, a concert originally scheduled for the 3rd not far from the shopping center was canceled.

A planned Tour de France-related event in southern Denmark was also canceled.

The suspect will be subject to preliminary questioning on the 4th.
