China News Service, July 4th. According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korea's civilian-government consultation mechanism aimed at seeking to resolve the claims of workers forced by the Japanese army during World War II will be launched on the 4th.

According to reports, the first meeting of the mechanism, attended by South Korean government officials, private experts, and victims, will be held in private on the same day.

The report pointed out that the South Korean government established the consultation mechanism because it is more necessary to seek a diplomatic solution when the South Korean court is about to execute the liquidation compensation for the seized Japanese companies' properties in South Korea.

The South Korean Grand Court (Supreme Court) in October and November 2018 finally ordered Nippon Steel and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to compensate Korean WWII workers.

Because the two Japanese companies refused to pay compensation, the plaintiffs started the realization process, and the South Korean court may make a final ruling as early as this fall.

The Japanese government regards South Korea's realization of Japanese company assets as an "insurmountable bottom line."
