According to the investigation, the documents contain information about the role of mercenaries in hostilities, their planning for the fortification of Ukrainian troops in these settlements.

Earlier, the Ambassador of the Luhansk People's Republic in Russia, Rodion Miroshnik, said that documents indicating the presence of foreign mercenaries in Severodonetsk and Lisichansk would be evidence for the tribunal.

Prior to this, the assistant to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the LPR, Vitaly Kiselyov, said that near Lisichansk, the military of the Lugansk People's Republic detained, presumably, 12 mercenaries while trying to escape.
