When the war in Ukraine broke out, the couple decided to open up their home to those in need of protection.
Now 78 Ukrainian refugees live on their farms where they grow cherries, blueberries and apples.
- We told them that they can stay as long as they want, says farmer Agnieszka Lusczewska.
In total, farmers Kondrad and Agnieszka Lusczewska have provided protection to 78 Ukrainian refugees with financial assistance from Swedish fundraising, government grants and their own money.
The Polish couple has provided the refugees with food, clothes and work on the farm.
They have also built a play and study room for the 12 children who now live in the cries.
- They have helped us a lot here.
We have received the support we did not expect, we have been given the opportunity to support our children, says Olga Kulemzina, one of the refugees living on the farm.
