On Sunday afternoon, a minibus and a car collided on the E16 outside Edsken in Hofors municipality.
The police confirm later in the evening that two people died in the accident, a woman 49 years old and a girl 15 years old, a resident of Gävle municipality.
Relatives of the deceased persons have been notified.
According to the rescue service, six people were involved in the accident, four of whom must have survived unharmed.
The car ended up in the opposite direction
According to information from the police, the car must in some way have ended up in the opposite direction.
How this could happen is currently unclear.
At around 6.30 pm, the rescue service left the scene.
