Several people were killed in a shooting at a shopping center in the Danish capital Copenhagen on Sunday, chief police inspector Sorn Thomasen said.
Thomasen said police arrested the suspect, a 22-year-old Dane, after the shooting.
The police chief did not provide further details, saying the situation remains very chaotic and unclear.
At 5.30 pm (1530 GMT), the police were alerted and a large contingent of police was deployed.
Thomasin said the possibility that the attack was terrorist cannot be ruled out.
And in the nearby Royal Arena, thousands are expected to attend a sold-out concert by singer Harry Styles scheduled for Sunday evening.
According to the PA news agency, the ceremony is expected to take place after law enforcement officials in the region have informed the organizers that it can be done safely.
