A shooting in a large shopping center in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, has left

"several" people injured this Sunday

, Danish police reported.

The police deployed significant reinforcements near the Fields shopping center

in the Amager neighborhood,

located between the center and the capital's airport, the Copenhagen armed body said on Twitter.

"We are on the spot, shots have been fired and several people have been hit,"

he reported.

More than a hundred people ran out of the shopping center when the first shots were heard, according to witnesses quoted by the Danish media.

The police asked the people who were still in the building to remain inside the compound until their troops arrived.

Minutes later, the police have reported an arrest: "One person has been arrested in connection with the shooting at the Fields Mall. We are not yet able to provide further information on the identity of this person."
