"Everyone has the right to speak out on issues, but no one has the right to put lives at risk," the Italian told British channel Sky Sports.
And to continue: "The actions of a small group of people today were completely irresponsible and dangerous. We thank the police for their excellent work and we must not be complacent about the risk this poses to the safety of the pilots, commissioners, fans and individuals themselves".
Earlier in the day, several people "attempted", according to the International Automobile Federation, to enter the track at Silverstone, when the race was neutralized due to an accident.
"These people were immediately removed and the matter is now being handled by local authorities," the FIA said.
The operation was claimed by the group of British environmental activists Just Stop Oil, which campaigns for the end of the exploration of fossil fuels in the United Kingdom.
“Five Just Stop Oil activists disrupted the British Grand Prix at Silverstone by bursting onto the track and sitting down,” the environmental group said.
