Six years ago, Uddevalla municipality decided to block off several quays at various locations because a geotechnical investigation showed that they were worn and there was a risk of landslides.

One of those places was the piers on Svensholmen.

The piers are centrally located and have been a popular haunt for fishermen because you get out a bit in the water.

Not prioritized

But despite the roadblocks, the site has continued to be used.

Even though it has been known by the municipality for a long time, it has taken until now before you have to chart a way forward.

- It has not been prioritized enough but I hope that we will be able to present a way forward this autumn, says Stefan Björling.

It's about millions in costs to renovate the piers, so politicians need to have their say.

The hope is that they will be able to take a position on a proposal in 2023.
