The head of Siemens Healthineers called caring for children the reason for continuing to work in Russia

The correspondent of the publication asked Schmitz why Siemens Healthineers continues its activities in Russia, although the Siemens AG concern stopped working after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine.

Schmitz responded that his company's activities did not violate EU sanctions.

“We offer products and services related to the medical care of the civilian population.

This, in principle, does not fall under the sanctions,” he said.

The head of the company added that the company continues to fulfill its contractual obligations in Russia.

“And from an ethical point of view, I would consider such a step dubious.

How can we refuse treatment for Russian children with cancer?” he said.

Earlier, the candidate of political sciences Vladimir Solomonov, in an interview with the FBA "Economics Today", spoke about the decision of Siemens to leave Russia.
