The rescue service was one of the participants in Saturday's pride procession through Västerås.

The fire truck could accompany the entire pride parade without having to pull out.

But if an alarm had come in, they would have turned on the sirens and left the pride train, says Andreas Hjelm, district manager at Vallby fire station.

Due to the pandemic, it was three years since a pride train was last arranged.

And the number of participating groups, companies and organizations has halved - from 50 three years ago to 25 this year.

Still, it was a long pride train that went through central Västerås on Saturday.
