“A Russian citizen Gavrilenko Elena Nikolaevna was detained at the Ankara airport.
She was detained along with her companion, a citizen of Moldova.
Both women are children's doctors," TASS quoted him as saying.
Melnikov added that the doctors were on their way to the symposium in Chisinau via Turkey.
“Local authorities accuse them of violating immigration laws,” he said.
In April, the Polish prosecutor's office announced the arrest of a Russian citizen on charges of espionage.
