The risk of an accident at a nuclear power plant that would cause radioactive release is described as very small by Jennie Berg, Director of Defense at the County Administrative Board of Gävleborg.

However, she emphasizes the importance of being well-informed about what applies.

- It is important to seek information yourself about how to act in the event of an accident, she says.

Shared responsibility in case of crisis

The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority has been commissioned by the government to review the division of the zones in Sweden.

According to law, the County Administrative Board is responsible for handling a spill, rescue service and decontamination in the event of an accident.

It is thus they who review the planning for such an event.
