As soon as he got off the plane, Mahamadou Issoufou went to the prime ministry for his first working session with the head of government, the ministers of defence, security and humanitarian action.

A meeting devoted to the duration of the transition, the timetable and the situation of former President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré and the monitoring and evaluation mechanism of the process.

During a whole part of the evening, the ECOWAS facilitator had several interviews with representatives of political parties and religious leaders.

According to Doctor Ablassé Ouédraogo of the Faso Otherwise party, the transition has set itself the objective of securing at least 75% of Burkinabe territory so that fair and transparent elections can be held.

Abdoulaye Soma, president of the former ONA (non-aligned opposition) maintains that the former Nigerien president invites the Burkinabè people to find a compromise with ECOWAS on the timetable to avoid sanctions.

This is also the wish of the member parties of the former presidential majority who asked the facilitator to use his weight so that ECOWAS maintains this dynamic of dialogue with the government and all the other actors for a way out of the crisis.
