After several months of waiting for professionals in the sector, the first tourists of the summer season are due to arrive this Saturday in their resort town.

In the Esterel Caravaning campsite in the Var, the teams are adjusting the final settings to welcome the first visitors, where nearly a thousand people are expected today and tomorrow.

For this July weekend, many holidaymakers will be on the road.

The first traffic difficulties are expected everywhere in France.

But if the road should be a little longer than expected, the first vacationers do not forget the essential: arrival at the right port.

And in this five-star campsite in the Esterel massif, the teams are busy welcoming the first holidaymakers.

A thousand people should arrive this weekend underlines the manager of Esterel Caravaning, Aurore Laroche.

"We have 331 mobile homes for rent and 164 pitches for caravans or motorhomes", explains the latter, who is on all fronts to ensure that everything is ready.

"Return of the Europeans"

To cope with the influx of tourists during the summer period, the campsite massively recruits seasonal workers.

“We double the staff,” explains Aurore Laroche.

In all, 86 employees will run the campsite day and night.

Because the season promises to be "exceptional", assures the director of Esterel Caravaning.

"We have the return of the Europeans this week. The French won't arrive until the following week. But we already have the chance to welcome the Anglo-Saxons, the Germans, our usual Belgian families".

Expected arrivals that put a smile back on the faces of professionals in the sector and confirm France as the European leader in open-air accommodation.
