The Pentagon: America is sending to Ukraine two surface-to-air missile systems

The United States will send to Ukraine two NASAMS surface-to-air missile systems, four additional anti-artillery radars, and up to 150,000 rounds of 155mm artillery, as part of Kiev's latest arms deals, the Pentagon said on Friday.

US President Joe Biden announced the outlines of the aid package, worth about $820 million, on Thursday in Madrid, following a summit of NATO leaders focused on Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The Pentagon provided more details on Friday as it formalized Biden's announcement, and said the latest package of security assistance also includes additional munitions for the High Mobility Artillery Missile Systems (HIMARS).

The new US aid aims to bolster Kyiv's military capabilities as it faces intense Russian heavy artillery bombardment.
