The investigation is continuing after the discovery of a corpse in the basement wall of the Atrium bar, in Nice on Wednesday evening.

An investigating judge has decided to indict two men, including the manager of the bar, for "murder and modification of the crime scene", announced in a press release Xavier Bonhomme, public prosecutor of Nice, specifying that the prosecution called for the incarceration of these two individuals.

The decision rests with the judge of freedoms and detention.

The boss confessed

On Wednesday, during an arrest operation, the body of a man was discovered "walled up", in a "concrete sarcophagus", in the cellar of the establishment, as well as "many traces of blood" , said Xavier Bonhomme.

An investigation, opened since February 15 after the report of a worrying disappearance of this 34-year-old man, had led to the opening of a judicial investigation on May 6 "against X for kidnapping and forcible confinement followed by death".

While in police custody, the manager of the Atrium "admitted to being the perpetrator of the murder, stating that he had acted alone, both for the homicide and for the concealment of the body and the cleaning of the premises", indicated the prosecutor. of the Republic of Nice.

A “second individual” also confided “having hit the victim and then witnessed the murder” committed by the bar owner.
