After a two-year hiatus, one of Sweden's largest football tournaments is now starting up again in Norrbotten.

Piteå Summer Games is expected to increase Piteå's population by 30 to 35,000 people over the weekend.

Long starting distance

- There is a hunger and a demand for events and tournaments again, but it is also a long starting distance.

We have replaced quite a lot of people and it is two cohorts of players and non-profit officials who have not been able to participate before.

Then it is important that we succeed in piloting these new ones in a good way, says Anna Bogren Dalberg.

A total of 626 teams are registered for the tournament and 1585 matches will be played over the weekend with participants from several parts of the world.

In addition to neighboring countries, Piteå receives long-distance visits from guests from Mongolia, Argentina, Peru and Mexico.

In the video, Anna Bogren Dalberg talks about what it has been like to start again after the break.
