The new decision affects the planned construction of apartments, cottages and a beach promenade adjacent to Gryts Varv and Marina at Hummelviksfjärden.

- The County Administrative Board has examined the measures against the grounds for exemption contained in the Environmental Code and has concluded that there are no grounds for exemption.

The municipality has not taken sufficient account of the interests of outdoor life in the area.

No alternative designs have been developed either, which is a prerequisite for shore protection exemptions to be considered in situations like this, says Adam Bergner, nature conservation officer at the County Administrative Board of Östergötland in the press release.

The decision means that not all of the around 80 planned apartments may be built.

The decision can be appealed.
