Another reason to be happy for Offenbach: The Rockywood project at the port has been delayed a bit due to a slump on the office market, but now the time has come, construction is about to begin.

There is reason to be happy not only because one of the last large gaps in the port area is being closed.

The forward-looking concept of modular timber construction by Wood, the larger of the two buildings in the office complex, also fits Offenbach's claim of being more open to new things than other cities.

It is also fortunate that the investor Achim Nagel and the architect Eike Becker have found two people who dare to do something new.

For Becker, building is always about enabling communication, as he says.

Therefore, for him, the "Plaza", a square in the middle of the complex that should be open to everyone, is "the heart of Rockywood".

There is much to suggest that this place will not only be accepted quickly by the people who work in Rocky and Wood, but also by the women, men and children who live in Offenbach's north end.

That's exactly what Becker wants, as he says.

Therefore, there should be a gastronomy open to all and outdoor sports facilities.

Another reason to be happy is that the investor, architect and city quickly agreed to give the complex a new home for the Nordend boxing club with its successful youth and integration work.

It would have had fatal consequences for youth work if this had not happened.

As a result, Offenbach will be enriched by an office complex built according to ecological goals, which may offer new companies an attractive domicile and at the same time reflect the openness of the city through its concept.
