The facts occurred on June 29 near a lake well known to Strasbourg residents, the Baggersee, in Illkirch-Graffenstaden.

That day, a man is caught throwing stones at a family of swans.

So much so that he “mortally wounds a swan”, reported the national police of Bas-Rhin on his Twitter account.

A witness then tried to stop the massacre but was "taken to task and threatened with death".

The stonework only finally stopped when the Strasbourg player was arrested.

He will be presented in court for "act of cruelty to an animal and threats".
