Kyiv accuses Russia of attacking Snake Island with phosphorous bombs

Ukraine accused the Russian army of dropping phosphorous bombs on Serpent Island in the Black Sea.

The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, Valery Salushnyh, told Telegram news service Friday that two attacks with phosphorous bombs were launched by Su-30 fighter jets from the Crimean peninsula annexed by Russia in 2014.

The commander showed a video clip aimed at proving the bombing.

He stressed, mocking the errors of shooting, that "the only thing that the opponent agrees on is the "accuracy" that has not changed."

The day before, the Russian army withdrew from the island.

Moscow presented this as a "goodwill gesture".

Kyiv considers the withdrawal from the island occupied by the Russians on the second day of the war a victory as a result of repeated attacks by the Ukrainian army.

Snake Island is located approximately 35 km from the Danube Delta, and was a prohibited military area as a border post even before the start of the war.
