According to reports, Li Mingbo was sentenced to 17 years in prison for corruption and bribery.

During his imprisonment, Li Mingbo had been "released" from prison for several times due to chronic diseases such as diabetes.

Taking into account Lee Myung-bak's health, the Prosecution Review Committee decided on June 29 to grant him a three-month suspension of his sentence.

On the other hand, South Korean politicians predict that Lee Myung-bak may be included in the list of pardons on August 15 for the "Liberation Day".
