It was Saturday 20 November at 5 pm in Fröslunda that the shooting took place.

A 14-year-old boy was hit in the back and was seriously injured.

According to information in the investigation, he has been harmed for life.

A 17-year-old boy was also shot, but was not injured.

The day after the shooting, the now convicted perpetrator went to the police himself, where he was arrested.

A couple of weeks ago, the other was also arrested.

Blamed on each other

According to Eskilstuna District Court, the two have jointly committed two cases of attempted murder and aggravated weapon crime.

The court finds that during the investigation they blamed each other and also claimed that they were threatened by each other during the detention period.

One of them, a 22-year-old, is singled out as the one who shot, but it is the other, a 24-year-old man, who according to the district court had a clear motive;

"To seek redress in relation to the young people who abused him earlier in the day in Fröslunda".

Called to shoot

A witness has told that the 24-year-old gathered friends to look for those who abused him.

The 24-year-old was told that one of them was among a group of young people in the center of Fröslunda, whom they then sought out.

According to the witness, the 24-year-old shouted at the 22-year-old that he would shoot, which the 22-year-old did.

The examination made of the bullet that hit the 14-year-old in the back indicates that it may have bounced against something first.

The witness is now in a secret location and has confidential information.

The lawyer: We're appealing

The 24-year-old's lawyer Andreas Simon says that the verdict will be appealed.

- My client thinks that the court has ended up wrong in its assessment, says Andreas Simon.

In addition to the two men being sentenced to 14 years in prison for two cases of attempted murder and aggravated weapon crime, they must also pay damages to the shot 14-year-old and 17-year-old.
