China News Service, June 30. According to Bloomberg News, the US Department of Defense said that a flight test of a hypersonic missile system in Hawaii on June 29 failed due to a malfunction after ignition.
The Defense Department reportedly did not provide further details.
A Pentagon spokesman said relevant program officials had launched a review of the cause of the malfunction.
According to the report, the U.S. military also conducted a flight test in October last year, but it ended in failure due to a malfunction of the booster.
