• Six minors are implicated after the shooting of a firearm perpetrated in a Star network bus on June 6, 2022.

  • The 15-year-old minor injured in the hand was in fact the author of the shots.

    He injured two other people.

  • According to the investigators, the dispute between the shooter and the group of individuals who came to meet him would be of a private nature.

Investigators from the Rennes judicial police see it more clearly.

Three weeks after the gunshots that sounded in a Star bus on Whit Monday, the police arrested seven people, one of whom was released.

Thanks to the CCTV images of the bus which was parked in Place de la République, they understood better what had happened.

That day, a 15-year-old minor was shot in the hand.

According to the public prosecutor of Rennes Philippe Astruc, the victim was in fact the one who was armed.

He would have used his weapon three times "injuring himself on this occasion".

Several people had been seen boarding the bus moments before the shooting.

When the shots were fired, they had fled.

“The investigations made it possible to identify five people among these individuals and showed that two of them had been injured by the shots, one in the hand and the other in the thigh, without them having manifested with the police to report their injuries, ”explains the prosecutor.

The magistrate specifies that the facts "seem to be linked to a private dispute".

The premeditation retained for five of them

At the end of police custody, five minors aged 15 to 17 were brought before the prosecution and will be summoned in October before the juvenile judge.

The alleged shooter is being prosecuted for "violence with a weapon with ITT for less than 8 days in public transport" and is prohibited from returning to Rennes.

He was put on placement.

The four other minors, who had visibly boarded the bus to fight it out, are being prosecuted for "premeditated meeting violence" and are subject to judicial review.

A sixth man, just of age, has been implicated and will be prosecuted for the same facts.

He will be tried in December before the criminal court.

All of the defendants are already known to the courts.

While the Keolis unions denounce an increase in violence on the buses in recent months, the Rennes prosecutor's office announced that it had "deepen the partnership" with the public transport company "in order to work for the safety of network users and personnel”.
