As reported on the website of the State Duma, the bill proposes to assign the status of a combat veteran to members of the civilian personnel of the Russian Armed Forces, repair teams, doctors and other specialists participating in a special operation in Ukraine.

“Currently, civilians can receive such a status only on the condition that during the period they carry out their tasks they will be injured or will be marked with state awards,” said Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma.

At the end of March, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a federal law that gives participants in the special military operation in Ukraine and Donbass the status of combat veterans.
