) was strongly protested in connection with the frankly boorish statements of the British leadership regarding Russia, its leader and official representatives of the authorities, as well as the Russian people,” the message says on the website of the Foreign Ministry.

The Russian side handed over to the British Ambassador a memorandum stating the unacceptability of offensive rhetoric on the part of the country's authorities.

Earlier, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov ironically commented on British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's statement that Putin would not have launched a special operation in Ukraine if he had been a woman.

According to him, Freud during his lifetime would have dreamed of such an object for research as Johnson.

Peskov also said that the insulting statements by British Defense Minister Ben Wallace about the Russian state leader cast a shadow on the United Kingdom.
