China News Service, Dongguan, June 30 (Reporter Cai Minjie) The Marina Bay Bridge of the Greater Bay Area Project opened to traffic on the 30th.

The bridge is an important passage connecting the central urban area of Dongguan, Guangdong Province with the Binhai Bay New District, and connecting Jiaoyi Bay and Shajiao Peninsula.

The time it takes for citizens to drive from Jiaoyiwan to Shajiao Peninsula has been shortened from half an hour to 5 minutes.

The Binhai Bay Bridge is located in the Binhaiwan New District of Dongguan City. The bridge is 973.6 meters long, of which the main bridge is 520 meters long.

The bridge is planned and constructed by Dongguan Binhaiwan New Area, undertaken by China Railway Bridge Bureau, and designed by the team led by He Jingtang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

With the design concept of "Silk Road Lights, Magnolia Blossoms", the coastal landscape is highly integrated with Dongguan's urban culture.

"'Magnolia' is the city flower of Dongguan City, so when I created it, I thought of 'Magnolia', and designed the top of the bridge in the shape of a budding magnolia flower, implying the prosperity and prosperity of Dongguan's urban development He Jingtang said, "This work is in my hometown Dongguan. Every time I pass by here and see this bridge, I will feel like home. I believe this bridge will help to enhance Dongguan's influence in the Greater Bay Area. and popularity".

As a landscape bridge with novel shape, the entire tower column of Binhai Bay Bridge has an artistic effect of "slim waist" shape along the height direction, small in the middle and two ends. The team cooperated to optimize the construction plan, and changed the steel shell concrete structure of the upper half of the main tower to a pure steel structure. After calculation and review, the concrete construction in 10 tower columns was optimized and cancelled, which not only realized the lightness of the tower columns. Quantification further accelerated the construction progress.

"During the construction of the Marina Bay Bridge, we fully applied BIM technology in the design and construction of our steel towers, delivered with three-dimensional models, and used the models to guide accurate cutting and assembly to improve the efficiency of on-site installation of tower sections. During the section lifting, alignment and installation of the main tower, we also used the self-developed 'Aerial Giant' D5200 tower crane, which accelerated the construction speed of the main tower." said Kang Yufei, chief engineer of the Marina Bay Bridge project.

Dongguan Binhaiwan New Area is adjacent to Hong Kong and Macau, and is closely connected to Guangzhou and Shenzhen. It is positioned as a characteristic platform for the coordinated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Binhai Bay New Area promotes the "hard connection" of infrastructure, the "urban skeleton" is opened, and the "One-Hour Life Circle in the Greater Bay Area" is being formed at a faster pace, attracting a group of young talents to Dongguan for innovation and entrepreneurship. strong.

"With the completion and opening of a number of major infrastructures such as the Binhai Bay Bridge, the urban comprehensive environment of the Binhai Bay New Area will be increasingly optimized, and the platform's carrying capacity will be increasingly attractive. It will be more stable and its status will jump further." Liu Guangbin, deputy mayor of Dongguan City, introduced.

The opening of the bridge will help to improve the infrastructure construction conditions in the Binhai Bay New Area, strengthen the connection between regional roads and national and provincial trunk lines, ease the regional traffic conditions, and improve the efficiency of connecting the new area with the outside world.
