The

General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ)

has suspended the plenary session this Thursday upon hearing the news of the death this morning of the member

María Victoria Cinto,

according to legal sources.

Cinto, a member of the progressive bloc of the governing body of the judges, has died after suffering a long illness at the age of 63.

The loss of him has generated desolation within the Judiciary.

The magistrate was president of the Provincial Court of Guipúzcoa between 1999 and 2010, dean of the Courts of San Sebastián and Deputy Minister of Justice of the Basque Government between October 2010 and December 2012.

In the plenary session this Thursday, the governing body of the judges had planned to address the legal reform promoted by Moncloa so that the CGPJ appoints the two magistrates that correspond to the Constitutional Court.
