On Wednesday, a man was sentenced by the Sables-d'Olonne criminal court to ten years in prison, as well as a fine of 400,000 euros, the gendarmerie announced.

The searches carried out during the investigation resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of drugs worth more than one million euros: 15 kg of ketamine, more than 30,000 sachets of ecstasy, two kilos of amphetamines or a liter of GHB, according to a press release.

Weapons, vehicles worth 120,000 euros, ammunition and false identity documents were also seized.

These searches follow the interception on Saturday of a vehicle from the Netherlands.

False identities

Two people had been arrested: a man suspected of being the leader of this network, who admitted in police custody "to being at the head of a traffic feeding the middle of the free parties", and an accomplice, sentenced to six months' imprisonment with probation.

This international network was discovered in May by investigators from the Sables-d'Olonne research brigade, according to the press release from the national gendarmerie.
